In 1958, years before the white British blues boom, singer/harmonica player Sonny Terry and singer/guitarist Brownie McGhee were among the very first authentic American blues musicians to visit England and reach a wider audience in the UK. They did a number of recordings for Pye Records, including two full sessions on which Chris Barber's Jazz Band backed them.
