Original 1978 recordings of Konono N°1 and other Congotronics bands, freshly remixed by Martin Meissonnier, the highly-respected French producer who worked with the likes of Fela Kuti, King Sunny Adé, Don Cherry, Khaled, Manu Dibango & many more. The album comes as a vinyl LP containing the remixes, plus a download code for nearly 2 hours worth of previously-unreleased original recordings made in Kinshasa by Bernard Treton, in 1978, as part of the same sessions which spawned the "Zaïre: Musiques Urbaines à Kinshasa" which was released by the Ocora label.Featuring Konono N°1, Sankayi (which was to become one of the components of the Kasai Allstars collective), Orchestre Bana Luya (also featuring future Kasai Allstars members) and the accordion-led music of Orchestre Bambala.
