White then delves into some of the major, progressive issues of the day with a passion she once reserved for the voting booth and private conversation. White received the Indie Award for Gratitude, a recording of her original instrumental guitar duets with husband, Al Petteway. She also won more than a dozen Washington Area Music Awards, and three separate Maryland State Arts Council grants for her compositions and solo instrumental performance.
