Klangforum Wien - Javier Quislant: Sinuoso Tiempo / Javier Quislant's music establishes a relationship with the Real Academia de España en Roma and the historical complex of San Pietro in Montorio. Javier Quislant's relationship with sound has been shaped in his latest works by technical approaches from cinema and literature. In his four-string quartet cycle Sinuoso Tiempo, he embarks on examining sound "per se". "The cycle enhances the inventive potential of the inner universe of sound, suggests a meditation of it's parameters and seeks for a utopian sound, which may be a source of wisdom", says the composer about his piece, for which he uses the terms "architectural space", "urban landscape" and "sunset" as metaphors. Impressively interpreted by the string quartet of Klangforum Wien, Javier Quislant's music establishes a mimetic relationship with the architectural inheritance of the Real Academia de España en Roma and the historical complex of San Pietro in Montorio.
