Hace mucho que Dito Labán nació en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Ya de pebete estudió música clásica, jazz, fue rocker y como nada de esto le salió, se refugió en el estilo que lo llevaría al éxito: Cumbia. Hoy, Dito Laban es un artista de culto, revolucionario y avant-garde. Alguna vez llamado "El Calamaro de la cumbia", Dito es a la cumbia Argentina lo que Calle 13 al reggaeton; cambió el horizonte del género, siendo la única promesa capaz de sorprender y divertir con su lírica y sus melodías. No reconocido en su tierra como otros grandes (Piazzolla, Cortázar, el jardinero Cruz o Vilma Palma) Dito Laban se exilió en Miami. Desde allí nos dice: "I'm not rencorose, I love my people, my fans. I'll be back and I will be millions. Like Evita, like Rocky, I will survive. It's ART."
