Hi, Randall Carrier here. This is the first 'worship' offering that I have put out. Instead of reinventing the wheel, I'm going to be lazy and put the breakdown on this project from my kickstarter campaign which I used to fund this record below. No label, no management, just me. I hope you enjoy. Thanks! - Randy In 2006, my life drastically changed when I encountered Christ and had the peace of God for the first time. Like so many, I acted drastically and made some serious changes at the time. One of those was kissing music goodbye as the major focus of my life. I am part of a great group of believers, Olathe House Church, in Olathe, KS. Through this group I have been blessed to be a part of so many huge life changing experiences like yearly trips to Africa and working amongst the immigrant population here in Kansas City. Though I was part of an awesome group that encouraged me in so many areas, in my own mind, music outside of church stuff was no longer for me. I pursued other things in life that God didn't intend for me, but all that time, I still just wanted to do music. Songs would come to me and I even made some recordings, but it had been sadly downgraded to just a hobby. In 2011 that all changed. God told me that the path I was on was not for me. Relieved, I dropped everything and pursued music full time. I have put out 3 records in that time and have reaped incredible rewards in experiences and fellowships. My current band, Me And My Shadow, completed our first full length in a manner of 6 months in 2013 and it is among my most favorite records I've ever done. Christ has been the backbone of everything I've done in this time. But all this time... God has been giving me songs that are either vertical in nature as worship for our house church, or conveying a special message that I feel needs to be said to the church or general public. These songs seemed so special to me, and over the past two years, despite my best intentions, I still have yet to put my hand to it and make this record. 2014 will finally see this record, and I want to do it with excellence. The experience of the house church has been so core to my existence over these years. As the house church model is adopted by more and more people, I feel that the style of worship that is part and parcel of the house church needs to be represented. I have been the worship leader for Olathe House Church since 2008. It's mostly just me and an acoustic guitar. It has been among the most enriching experiences of my life. Sometimes it is just strumming and praying, sometimes it is loudly belting out songs and singing to God. It's completely dynamic, there is usually no plan, but it's always amazing. You may be asking about the title, Warship: Vol. I: Let's Get The Cops Called. That's just a little bit of my personality. I view singing to God from a lot of angles, but the first I choose to focus on is what appeals to the inner-cowboy that God made me. It's WAR in the spiritual realms, taking authority, righteous indignation. It emboldens me and encourages me, and I want to pass that on. 'Let's Get The Cops Called' is something I find myself saying from time to time when leading at church. We're in a house on a Sunday morning. I'm not going to be part of a lackluster, boring experience. I don't want people to be inhibited. I am not going to be part of the institutionalized religious thing we have going on. God created us all with voices, let's blast 'em.
