Music has always been a gift for me. It has been with me for as long as I can remember and has grown and evolved as I have through the years. It allows me to communicate what I can't readily say. I can share emotions and connect with others with whom I might not be able to otherwise. I've played acoustic guitar and sung since I was a child. My vocal training came through Sunday choir and I pretty much self taught myself the guitar. Growing up in Hawaii allowed me to experience so many kinds of music. There was Hawaiian, jazz, swing, big band, latin, slack key, rock, pop...and I've been influenced by them all. I've always been particularly drawn to romantic, acoustic based island music and ballads. Music that rekindles memories of growing up in Hawaii with it's tropical nights and ocean filled days. Through high school and college I played professionally in dance bands at hotels and nightclubs in Waikiki. After this introduction to Hawaii's visitor industry I chose to work in hotel management and have done so on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. Still music surrounds me everyday and I've had the unique opportunity to blend my passion for music with my profession in hotels. This CD has long been a life goal of mine. Writing, arranging and recording these songs has been a culmination of many years of dreams and planning. It is my attempt to capture the sounds, emotions and experiences I've enjoyed growing up in these islands. I hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks for listening.
