Description

Artist: Lightnin' Hopkins
Title: Autobiography in Blues
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS

One of the greatest bluesmen of the 20th Century, the Texas bluesman Lightnin' Hopkins remains one of the most influential artists of the modern era. His classic 1961 album, Autobiography in Blues, features Lightnin' in a most effective setting: alone with his acoustic guitar. It was this album that introduced Lightnin' to a wider audience as the Folk Music boom was in full bloom and he was embraced by a new audience, expanding his visibility beyond the blues realm. Many of the tracks on this album became staples of his live show and were subsequently recorded by a new generation of folk artists including another influential Texan, Townes Van Zandt who often included "Short Haired Woman" in his live sets. All selections have been newly remastered.
