Description

Artist: Kill Emil
Title: O'Jogo / Tambo
Product Type: 7-INCH SINGLE

Seven inch vinyl pressing. Here's something a little spicy for the fourth edition of Cold Busted's reggae/dub 7" series. Kill Emil, the Athens, Greece (by-way-of-Brazil), DJ and producer reveals a groovy double A-side single that takes the island flavor and sprinkles it on a filet of funk. And Kill Emil knows his funk - initially inspired by Gangstarr's Daily Operation, he's been prolifically chopping beats on his MPC for almost a decade, culminating in his acclaimed 2015 Cold Busted album Salvation. The single leads with "O' Jogo", a boom-bastic cut that blends a Caribbean groove with big hip hop rhythms. The vocal chants are uplifting, accompanied by rousing horn lines, agogo beats, and steady guitar chimes. Flip the 7" for the salsa-inspired "Tambo", which treats the dance floor to sing-along vocals, a punchy drum section, and bouncing Latin pianos. The heat of the summer just got more bearable... Kill Emil has dropped a tropical sensation.
