Jerrell has been interested and extremely active in music since a very early age. He began singing in the choir under the direction of his mother, it was then she realized his ability for music. His interest soon turned to musical instruments, where he learned the saxophone, bassoon, electric bass, guitar, double bass and piano. His performances in music meant a lot of traveling at and early age. It was before his 18th birthday that he left is hometown of Houston, Texas to Europe, with his awarding winning high school 'KSB' Kashmere Stage Band under the direction of Conrad O. Johnson. Deciding to continue his studies in music he went to the University of North Texas State and received his Bachelor of Music degree. Also during this period he joined a group of extraordinary musicians that later became the legendary Dallas band 'Phyrework', that recorded 1 album for Mercury Records. From that point on the performances have been many. Always looking for other challenges he took acting classes for T.V, film and commercials in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. Which led him to perform in the musical theater production of 'American Jukebox' that lasted 5 years. In the musical not only did he have to play bass, but sing and dance as well. After returning to Belgium he did another musical, 'Soul Baby June' which was a Motown Revue. The list of people that he has shared the stage with is amazing, the who's who of music, people like The Temptations, Average White Band, Patti LaBelle, Herbie Hancock, Cecil Shaw, Kool and the Gang, Stevie Ray Vaughn,Lightin Hopkins, Gino Vannelli, Bloodstone and the Tramps. In Brazil with Alcione, Ney Matogrosso and Marcio Montarroyos. As vocalist touring internationally with 'The Magic Platter's', NY Gospel Experience, as well as vocals on Pierre Rapsat's last 2 CD's and bassist for 'Disco Night Fever' including George McRae, Patric Hernadez, Ottawan, Gibson Brothers and Boney M. With a long course in music he decided to go into a solo career. He came out with his first single 'Reason to Love' in 2003, in five countries showing tremendous radio and public reaction.
