Vinyl LP pressing. 2015 release from producer and multi-instrumentalist Leonardo Salvaro AKA Florestano. Having grown up in Verona, there is a rich traditionalism to Salvaro's experimentally-driven sound which is present across the entirety of his debut. Opener 'Broken Mp3' juxtaposes a siren-like synth wail with a stripped back chord sequence provided by Salvaro's own piano. This neo-classical approach is what makes the Florestano sound so applicable to cinema or theater. There is a pathos and heart to his compositions which seeps through on every phrase. A synergy of analog and digital which is also achieved by visionaries like Nils Frahm and Kiasmos.
