'Rainbow' is the sophomore effort for our duo, Distant Duet, and we are excited. We were very pleased with the reviews garnered by our first CD on cdbaby. Here are a few: Heart Felt Honesty: If you enjoy discovering new music by new artists then this CD is for you. When two old friends join together with mutual song writing talent and heart felt honesty the results are refreshing. Becky Dunkel has a voice that is as clear and crisp as a spring day but strong and bold like a cold north wind. Her songs are refreshing and lift up your spirits. David Yarbrough, the other half of the Duet is more of a quiet type that I would call a deep-water artist. His poetic lyrics are always honest and from the heart. His music expresses our human thoughts, feelings, and emotions. If Woody Guthrie was the voice of America and Bob Dylan the voice of our culture, then David Yarbrough is the voice of the heart. I can't wait for the second CD. Highly recommended: This is well-crafted music created by two people who work well together and really highlight their respective talents. Playful to wistful to romantic, but always 'rootsy,' this album is a great listen from beginning to end. Keep it comin'! Good music from good friends The music, as well as the production, is not elaborate, but it puts the heartfelt lyrics and vocals out front. There's much to like in this collection, but my favorites (today) are, "By Now", where Dave, generally a reserved fellow, sings in a soulful and almost menacing voice I've never heard from him before. If there's potential for commercial success in independent releases these days I'm suggesting Becky Dunkel's "Sorry Baby." It sounds like music for a movie to me. If you've still got romance in you heart and poetry in your soul, check out this CD. We feel the second CD is even better than the first, and we hope that you do, too.
