Bastille is: David Cawkwell - Vocal, Guitar Arthur Graves - Guitar Tom Burick - Bass Guitar, Vocal Paul Fraunfelter - Drums Original material bands usually cringe at the ubiquitous question, 'who do you sound like?' Unfortunately, if you want to be heard, it's a question one must answer. Let's see... Tom is an avid Rush fan. Arthur and Paul both agree on progressive, but where Arthur branches out to Goth and Metal, Paul prefers Classical and old Captain Beefheart recordings. Dave's influences read like a list of great radio hits. They all love King Crimson. Where does that leave us? Well, Bastille's sound is vaguely reminiscent of many of the harder edged and progressive 80's bands; sort of like Mission UK-meets-a-younger-Peter Gabriel. On the other hand, a recent video of an onstage jam eerily recalls footage of the Jefferson Airplane during their heyday. What is known for certain are two things; audiences respond enthusiastically to Bastille's performances and dancing is frequently spotted in the audience. David Cawkwell still writes music and plays with his 25+ year band, WHEN THUNDER COMES. In 2006 a 16 song CD was released called 'Farewell Nostradamus. ' Oct. 2012 Dave Cawkwell records several songs from the Bastille era on his new CD 'Taken All You Can'.
