With handfuls of acoustic instruments, using time-tested methods of counterfeiting, stealing and cultural plundering, the BKO presents traditional music of Greece, the Balkans and the old-time South. OK, some of it they made up themselves (that's the counterfeiting), but the sources for the rest are impeccable. Songs are in English. HANK BRADLEY Fiddle champion turned bouzouki player, writes music and songs. FRANNIE LEOPOLD Musically diverse singer, guitarist, and actually lives in Mendocino. CATHIE WHITESIDES Long-time Bay Area dance player, one of a kind soaring soulful fiddle, writes music and songs. The BKO is found most summers teaching string music and singing at the camp called 'Lark In The Morning' in Mendocino, California. Subjects: Old time singing and harmony (by Frannie); Fiddle in Irish, Scottish, Greek and contradance styles (by Cathie); Southern fiddle and 5-string banjo, Greek bouzouki (3- and 4-string) (by Hank).
