Biography Born in brooklyn, NY into a young forward thinking black family. Ekundayo was given his name at birth, by his mother. It means 'Sorrow Becomes Happiness'. As a youngster Ekundayo was heavily influenced by the culture of the west indies (reggae, soca music, carribean food) and africa (dance and drumming). He attended Weuse Shule in the flatbush area of brooklyn, a private school with an african centered cirriculum. Here he learned about his history, the journey, the hardships and ultimately the beauty of his people. He performed at talent shows and programs put on by the school annualy at Mahalia Jackson highschool. Ekundayo and his two brothers learned to play african drums as a result of their mother being a dancer. They continued to play and perform well into their teenage years. This tranfered into their peforming and mastering the art of emceeing. In the late 80's the family moved to Hempstead,LI. These were new and different surroundings, which proved to be a wonderful place to further develop and experiment with rhyming, and self expression. Growing as an emcee Ekundayo went through a couple different names and crews, until finding the 'Roudy Bunch'. The Roudy Bunch was a very large family of emcees from all over the NY area, with a concentration in Freeport,LI. With the R.B. Ekundayo performed, battled and learned the blessings and hardships of working with many different entities with similar goals in mind. The Liuns Den was actually the name of the loft over the garage in ekundayo's backyard. This is where R.B. members from the hempstead and uniondale areas would congregate. The Liuns Den founding members Ekundayo the Mounten Liun, Thunda Kat, Luz Wed, Sabertooth, Kwezorro da Latin Liun, Brane, and Jus Black, began performing at various clubs and events throughout New York such as Hofstra University,Nassau Community College, Old Westbury College, NYU, Baby Jupiter, Planet 28, Lyricist Lounge, Nuyorican Poets Cafe,Chameleon Lounge, Club Tropics,to name a few. In 1995, it became evident that The Liuns Den was more than just another on-again, off-again hip-hop group. A few members relocated from New York to Atlanta. In Atlanta, the Liuns Den has become a well known act in the city. With the sky being the starting point only upward and forward movements lay ahead for Ekundayo. THE TRUTH IN THE FORM OF A MAN. HAILING FROM NEW YORK (LONG ISLAND AND BROOKLYN STAND UP),NOW IN THE ATL. SPITTING FOR WELL OVER 12 YEARS, AN EMCEES EMCEE. DIFFERENT VISIONS, FLOWS AND SOUNDS. FIRE.
