Watch Rufus Wainwright's Behind-the-Scenes Documentary For 'Unfollow the Rules'

It premiered on NPR streaming on Friday, but now it's available for all to watch. Rufus Wainwright has put together a short film documentary about the making of new album, Unfollow the Rules, which arrives from BMG in July and is available for pre-order now in double-vinyl from Tower.

The documentary is rather post-post-modernistly named Unmaking Unfollow the Rules, and can be viewed right here, hosted by World Cafe, with about 45 minutes run-time. The short film is directed by Jeff Richter of Earthquake Productions (Guns N Roses, Lenny Kravitz, De La Soul).

Unfollow the Rules is Wainwright's ninth studio LP and first new pop album since 2012, and represents a return to Los Angeles for the singer-songwriter, as well as a platform on which to discuss "middle age, married life, fatherhood, friends, loss, London, and Laurel Canyon".

Singles "Damsel In Distress" and "Alone Time" are already out there to delve into.

As a performer particularly fond of live shows, Wainright is hoping to take to the road on tour for his new album, so for scheduled dates and other information, please visit rufuswainwright.com/tour.
