Ian Fisher's New Single 'Be Thankful' Is A Reminder To Live In The Moment

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, expat Americana songwriter Ian  Fisher has released a new single reminding us all to be thankful for what we have. "Be Thankful" is off Ian's full length album, American Standards, coming out on Feb 19, 2021.

He's already released two other singles, the title track and the recent "AAA Radio", his ode to St. Louis. Now with "Be Thankful," Ian turns his songwriting to East Nashville, where he used to live.

It's been more than a decade since Ian Fisher left his home state of Missouri and moved to Europe. With songs that combine an international lyrical perspective and a world-traveler’s musical influences with Americana roots, Fisher has remained on the road ever since emigrating, penning over one and a half thousand songs while also playing hundreds of concerts around Europe, North America, and Africa.

For his upcoming record, American Standards, he decided to work with a Producer for the first time. In March 2019, Fisher took more than three hundred demos to the studio of Producer René Mühlberger in the Austrian countryside. Together with his band, they whittled down that list to the ten best tracks, most of which were Americana songs Fisher had written while in Nashville and the results veer between acoustic, stripped-down songs and full-band performances.
