Go Old School Melodic Metal With Neptune's Anders Olsson & Tosh Ason On Tower's Live Show!

We had a double bill of both Anders Olsson and Tosh Ason of the Swedish Metal band Neptune on our Tower Instagram Live show, hosted by Whitney Moore, to talk about their upcoming, rather historic album, Northern Steel, out on November 6th. The name, of course, is a play on the title of the well-known Metal album British Steel, which is 40 years old this year. We even got a crash-in appearance from bandmates Johan Rosth and Jonas Winkstrom!

For those who are new to the band Neptune, they have 30 years of experience playing awesome Metal, having launched as a band in the 80s, but their "resurrection" took place after a period of inactivity and partly due to a resurgence in fan demand for their work.

Discussing the current Metal scene, Olsson and Ason feel like Melodic Metal has been on the way out, except for their own music, in favor of a "harder" sound. The Melodic is part of their music that isn't going away, though. For their video of "Last Man Standing", they actually filmed at an old Viking location!

You can also check out their recent videos for "Angels" and "Fallen Nations" from the new album:
