NAPRA Review (11-12/01, p.73) - "...Utterly inspirational and bordering on pure bliss..."
Karunesh's debut album is an atmospheric meditation for piano and synthesizer. The synthesizer often sings like a bamboo flute, evoking the Zen practice of shakuhachi flute-meditation. The songs unwind slowly and gracefully, summoning a sense of peace in the listener. Subtle vocal samples and limpid guitar float through the mix, but the production is mostly a bare-bones affair meant for healing. ZEN BREAKFAST fits in nicely alongside the recordings of artists like Steven Halpern and Dean Evenson.
