2009 album from the singer, pianist and actor, an album of cover versions of songs requested by his many fans. Like his best-selling Only You of 2004, Your Songs consists of Connick singing familiar songs with a full Jazz big band and string orchestra, and, as with nearly all of Harry''s previous albums, he wrote each of the orchestrations himself. He also recruited two of his lifelong friends from New Orleans, Branford and Wynton Marsalis, as well as bluegrass guitar virtuoso Bryan Sutton, for guest appearances. 14 tracks including ''Mona Lisa'', ''Smile'', ''Just The Way You Are'' and more.

Harry Signing All of the Songs That I Love, October 22, 2009
By mattamama
I absolutely loved this CD. I have always been a huge fan of Harry as an actor,
but never quite grasped his style of music. I did have the pleasure of seeing
Harry in concert, but I never really enjoyed his music until now...this new CD.
This CD gave me more of an appreciation for his voice and what he is able to do
with his voice.
Wouldnt classify this as "Pop Vocal", October 18, 2009

I found this cd too quiet for me. After the first couple of songs all activity
stopped and I was on the couch nearly asleep before I knew it. Wouldnt listen to
it driving, but if I knew someone that found it hard to unwind at the end of a
day or had a child to put to bed this may be perfect. Good background music for
dinner parties and such.
Great Music, October 17, 2009

I first fell in love with Harry Connick, Jr. during the movie When Harry Met
Sally. Since then, I have enjoyed his music and appearances on Will and Grace.
Dreamy. Well this album is just another great addition to his collection of
work. They are songs I grew up with, and can be listened with friends, parents
and kids. I love sharing these songs in their new iterations by Harry Connick,
Jr. I even prefer his version of Your Song more than Elton John’s original!
It’s a great album.
Good, but not great, October 14, 2009

HCJ fans will probably not jump at the chance to recommend this newest offering
of classic crooner songs. It is not that Harry doesnt sound as smooth and
charming as ever, because he does. His voice is probbly the greatest asset on
this CD. It is not that the songs arent great, because they are all popular
classic ballads that are instantly recognizable, or at least should be. It is
just this CD is such a departure from Harrys usual jazz based fare. These
arrangments tend to make the songs so palatable to everyone that they end up
being a little bland. The arrangments tend to be a little heavy on the easy
listening side, and a little light on the jazz and complexity that make Harry
stand out so much. Songs like Billy Joels "Just the Way You Are" lack some true
soul that Harry could add with the right arrangment. This CD is not without
merit. It is the perfect background music for cocktail parties, long bubble
baths and anytime you really need to unwind. It just isnt the CD you would
reach for if you just want to enjoy some great jazz.
Good to hear someone still appre, October 8, 2009

Its nice in a day and age where songs can be so vulgar, that someone still has
an appreciation for the art of a good wholesome love song. The tone of this
album is romantic and calming. All age groups can comfortably listen to this
album.

Harry Connick Jr.s Your Songs cd, September 28, 2009
By Amidala
The cd has smooth melodies and great vocals. Harry has done good covers of
wonderful songs. Now that Ive listened to it again, I think he needed to be a
little more bold on this album. Add some of the flavor and fun from his
previous albums. But still, its a good album and easy listening for a relaxing
evening. The track listing is as follows: ALL THE WAY, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE,
CANT HELP FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU, AND I LOVE HER, (THEY LONG TO BE) CLOSE TO
YOU, BESAME MUCHO (KISS ME MUCH), THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT, FIRST TIME EVER I
SAW YOUR FACE, YOUR SONG, SOME ENCHANTED EVENING, AND I LOVE YOU SO, WHO CAN I
TURN TO (WHEN NOBODY NEEDS ME), SMILE and MONA LISA.

Older, blander version of Harry, September 24, 2009
By Cynthia
I have had a few chances to review this album and I must say that I am a little
disappointed. Generally, HC JR. albums are inventive, original (even if it is a
cover) and entertaining...however, with this album, there are only three songs
that even remind me of the old Harry.
The first track, "All The Way" is
reminiscent of his "We Are In Love" album and has heavy brass licks...definitely
old school Harry. I also enjoyed "The Way You Look Tonight" and "Some Enchanted
Evening"...however, the remainder of the songs are bland and lack the attention
that he normally gives his music. They just sound like covers and boring ones,
at that.
He spent some time on the first three that I mentioned, and his
band really have them some flair, but the rest of the tracks lack emotion,
energy and enthusiasm.
It seems as if Harry just wanted to get the album out
there and not spend a lot of time on a quality product. This is unusual for such
an accomplished artist.
I really think he missed the bar on this album. But,
as for singles...tracks 1, 7 and 10 DO hit the mark!
