Staton has always been a bit of a stylistic chameleon; she's sung straight gospel, southern soul, and R&B versions of country songs, but of course she's best known for her '70s stint as a disco diva. This best-of collection focuses mostly on her dance hits (like the title tune, memorably remade on the soundtrack to the 1996 version of ROMEO AND JULIET with Leonardo Di Caprio). But there's also a previously unreleased cheating song, "He's Making Love to You," that's very much in her '60s style, and the concluding "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" is as thoroughly churchified as a gospel ballad can get.
