Assembled and mixed by Steve and David Gordon, this compilation features various artists blending contemporary electronic technology with Eastern musical styles. The result is an absorbing body of music designed to enhance the yogic experience. Of course, this album can also be used to complement meditation practices, massage therapy, martial arts exercises, and other likeminded activities.

Artemisia's "Perfumed Garden" is a delightfully tranquil composition. This piece hypnotizes with its repetitive percussion patterns and aromatic flute playing. Steve Gordon's "Holding the Vision" exacts a similar musical vibe. Employing tribal rhythms, exotic flute trills, and a distant vocal choir, Gordon invokes the feel of far-off safaris and pastoral landscapes. Another track, "Bolo Shri Krsna" by Jaya Lakshmi features flowing vocals, droning keyboards, and throbbing tabla drums. The album's closer "Tempel der Stille" by Tau is a contemplative track that focuses on a plaintive female vocal melody; Tau's use of exotic strings also adds to the composition's overall mood. In general, YOGA SALON is a transfixing set of music that encourages inner peace and spiritual health.
