Review

Spin (p.87) - "[W]ith enough space for him to crack wise, yell random slogans, and make compelling shapes out of wiry indie-rock guitar riffs that rarely sound this fresh."
Magnet (p.108) - "Shooting At Unarmed Men plans to keep delivering immeasurable decibels without losing its significance -- or hearing -- in the process."

Product note

Shooting At Unarmed Men: Jon Chapple (vocals, guitar, bass guitar); Steve Morgan (vocals, drums).
Personnel: Simon Jarvis (bass guitar).
The Cardiff post-punk trio Shooting At Unarmed Men recalls the Fall in the snotty, jerky vocals of its singer Jon Chapple, but its imaginative approach to rhythm and its off-kilter lyrics put it in a class by itself. The circular "Get Out and Come Right In" features scrubbed, atonal guitar against primitive bass and drums, while "In Flight Instructions Are a Joke, Say I" hilariously transforms airline safety directions into a twisted philosophy for living.
