Rosalinde Mynster stars as Sara, an intelligent and devout 17-year-old Jehovah s Witness who passionately pursues her religion s teachings. But when she falls in love with older boy and non-believer Teis (Pilou Asbæk), Sara is forced to choose between the desire she feels and the faith that forbids it. In a family torn apart by sin and salvation, can a teenage girl discover the courage to change her life forever? And in a world that rarely understands her insular creed, is love the most mysterious power of all? Jens Jørn Spottag and Sarah Boberg co-star in this poignant coming-of-age drama from award-winning filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev, director of the international sensation Drømmen/We Shall Overcome.

This is a very accurate portrayal of the Watchtower religion. It is very
realistic without being inaccurately sensational - though anyone watching that
is not aware of Watchtower rules on disfellowshipping will be appalled that
Witnesses shun their own children for differences in faith. I was raised a
Jehovahs Witness and most of the people I grew up with went through similar
situations.
