This twofer pairs a 1966 Four Seasons album, built around one of their biggest hits, "Working My Way Back to You," with a 1969 SGT. PEPPER'S-type concept album that was partly written by the cult '60s and '70s songwriter Jake Holmes (who also penned Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused" and the U.S. Army commercial jingle, "Be All That You Can Be"). The former album is a collection of high-quality '60s pop by a band working at the height of its powers, while the curiously compelling latter set takes the form of a series of psychedelic musical newspaper articles about the group.
