Title Note

This early-1960s collaboration between Nat "King" Cole and the legendary arranger Nelson Riddle is a cycle of songs that Cole later unsuccessfully attempted to mold into a musical. The singer's raffish delivery on such ring-a-ding-ding material as "Hundreds and Thousands of Girls" and "Pick Up" is neatly framed by vintage Riddle arrangements, making this collection something of a bachelor pad classic, though such miniature romantic masterpieces as "Are You Disenchanted" and "He Who Hesitates" transcend any kitsch tendencies with their tastefully downbeat musical shading.
