The Untouchables: Chuck 'Poke' Askernee (vocals); Clyde 'The City Gent' Grimes (guitar); Snake Davis (saxophone); Mars Williams (tenor saxophone); Bill 'Jangles' Donado (baritone saxophone); Matt 'Monster' Fronke (trumpet); Tim 'Bone' Moynahan (trombone); Josh Lawrence Harris (keyboards); Caine Carruthers (bass guitar); Glenn 'Boy' Symmonds (drums); Jerry 'EQ' Miller (percussion).

While the ska revival of the '80s is generally thought of as a British phenomenon, the Untouchables--despite recording for U.K.-based Stiff Records--were ska warriors who hailed from Southern California. Consequently, there's a bit more soul and swing and a tad less punk-informed urgency to their debut album, WILD CHILD, than you'll find in the work of the band's English peers. The American funk/R&B influence that set the Untouchables apart from the Specials and Madness makes for a more varied sonic experience, giving WILD CHILD a commonality with the pan-stylistic sounds of post-ska outfits like Fine Young Cannibals and Fishbone, though they never achieved a comparable level of commercial success.
