The paperback format, also know as softback or softcover, describes and refers to a book by the nature of its binding and covering.
These books are generally covered with paper, plasticized paper or light cardboard and are usually bound together with glue. Generally, paperbacks are released after their respective hardcover version has been released. Otherwise, this format is most commonly used for novels and less popular authors and titles.
