A book consists of a collection of written and illustrated materials printed on several pieces of paper or parchment depending on the size of the volume. Within each book, a single sheet of paper is referred to as a leaf which then consists of two pages on either side.
On a grand scale, books are generally classified as fiction, non-fiction, or other. Within these divisions there are several different types of books, which are defined by the nature of the material covered within them, such as: novels, textbooks, graphic novels, comic books, reference books, almanacs, handbooks and many more. Subsequently, each book is categorized by its subject: juvenile fiction, education, biography and autobiography, history, philosophy and social science to name a few.
