Product note

Active in the late 1960s and early `70s, this dozen-or-so member Memphis band blended rock and soul with a hint of psychedelia in a similar manner to the Electric Flag. Their Stax-on-acid brew is much in evidence in this reissue of their sole full-length release, which includes a Hendrix-like reinterpretation of the Willie Dixon standard "Spoonful." Members of the outfit later went on to join the reconstituted post-Otis Redding Bar-Kays.

Title Note

Brothers Unlimited: Larry Lee (vocals, guitar); Curtis Johnson (vocals); Alvin Potts (various instruments); Leon Aldridge (bass guitar).

Recording information: Fame Recording, Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
