Personnel: Whitey Johnson (vocals, guitar); Colin Linden (guitar, background vocals); Delbert McClinton (harmonica); Dave Roe (upright bass); Tom Hambridge (drum).

Gary Nicholson is a Nashville songwriter whose songs have been covered by Willie Nelson, B.B. King, and the Dixie Chicks. (Nicholson also has a career as a producer for Chris Knight and Wynonna.) But he's a performer too, and in the case of this album, Nicholson performs as WHITEY JOHNSON. As his alter-ego, Nicholson can play guitar hero; pay tribute to Texas blues icons such as Johnny Winter, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Freddie King; and good-naturedly satirize them all at once. In the process, Nicholson brings wit, imagination, and his own personal flair to the grass roots of American music.
