Taking Back Sunday Artist Snapshot:

After putting in their time on the New York/New Jersey punk scene, toiling away as a perennial opening act, and selling themselves hard on the Vans Warped tour, Long Island's Taking Back Sunday achieved a major breakthrough with 2004's WHERE YOU WANT TO BE, released on Victory Records. Rooted in the anthemic punk and hardcore sounds, Taking Back Sunday also possess a mature sense of songcraft and structure that expands on the punk template. By the time 2006's LOUDER NOW was released, the band had become true mainstream rock stars. Though co-founder and vocalist Fred Mascherino left the band in 2007 to focus on his solo career, the band has soldiered on.

Title Note

This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.

Taking Back Sunday: Fred Mascherino (vocals, guitar); Adam Lazzara (vocals); Eddie Reyes (guitar); Matthew Rubana (bass guitar); Mark O'Connell (drums).

Long Island, New York's Taking Back Sunday debuted in 2002 with TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS, an album that encapsulated the more accessible side of the East Coast emo-core sound. The band garnered a loyal following by combining sparklingly clean production, a razor-sharp guitar sound, and vocals that mixed the youthful optimism and energy of pop-punk with rigorous self-examination. On WHERE YOU WANT TO BE, Taking Back Sunday improves on a winning formula by exploring more diverse arrangements while retaining the group's trademark melancholy forcefulness. On "Set Phasers to Stun," the ensemble cops a Police-like rhythmic vibe, while "New American Classic" is a moving acoustic ballad complemented by Nick Drake-like strings. On this sophomore outing, Taking Back Sunday shows it isn't afraid to venture into new sonic territory.

Another TBS album worth listening to. Though more Rock than previous "Tell All Your Friends" this album has better guitar, more thought into their overlapping lyrics and you can tell when listening to it that the producers did an amazing job in the recording and production of this album.
