Annotation

The author brings the nation to its breaking point with the most destructive event in the nationas 400-year history. The countryas burdensome debt is compounded because of the widespread devastation. During one cold February day, the nation is severely shaken, politically, financially and geographically. A new president is confronted with unfolding events in Saudi Arabia over which the United States has no control. Unrelated, China is instrumental in a monetary crisis at the treasury. While the president speaks to the American people, he is interrupted by this catastrophic disaster. Reactions in Beijing, Riyadh and London challenge the presidentas abilities to manage these events.
