Title Note

Personnel: Oscar Peterson (piano); Ray Brown (upright bass); Milt Jackson (vibraphone); Karriem Riggins (drums).

Recording information: Blue Note, New York, New York (1998).

Take three globally renowned jazz legends (pianist Oscar Peterson, acoustic bassist Ray Brown, and vibist Milt Jackson), convene them (with a drummer) at the renowned Blue Note jazz club in New York City (in 1998), set them loose on a program of standards, and then listen to the magic, and hear the sonic sparks fly. Each is in fine form--luminously lyrical and swinging, inspired yet easygoing. All get to stretch out, and no one overplays. A gem.
