This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.

Former classical music prodigy Chantal Kreviazuk continues to make waves on her third album WHAT IF IT ALL MEANS SOMETHING, an outing that shows her skills as a pop/rock singer-songwriter have strengthened considerably since her 1997 debut UNDER THESE ROCKS & STONES. Although most of these songs (which were co-written with husband/Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida) were composed on guitar, its not surprising that piano, Kreviazuk's childhood instrument, plays such a prominent role. The soaring opener "In This Life" benefits from some understated work on the 88's, while the Canadian songstress goes for a more intricate feel on the sprightly yet introspective "Time."

Using self-discovery as a motivating factor throughout the album, Kreviazuk uses the ironies of celebrity to inform the Alanis-like "Julia" and jaunty Tori Amos-meets-Joan Osborne "Miss April." The breezy "Weight of the World" finds this Winnipeg native bidding adieu to burdens and baggage of all kinds while the Far East nuances of "Ready for Your Love" find her giving in to romance. Serving as a bittersweet bow on this vibrant collection of songs is "Flying Home (Brenda's Song)," a poignant ode written in memory of a cousin who passed on in 2002.
