An Atlanta native who specializes in the bangin', heavy-lidded Dirty South style the city is known for, Gorilla Zoe made a name for himself on the scene performing with Yung Joc and Boyz N Da Hood (where he replaced Young Jeezy). WELCOME TO THE ZOO furthers the strain of well-produced hardcore with speaker-rattling beats and narratives about gangster life in Atlanta. The album's lead-off single, "Hood Nig*a," is a case in point.
