Title Note

After their long stay at Warner Brothers, the Association's new home at Columbia seemed to be the right move to make at the time. However, by 1972, the hits had all but dried up, and there wasn't that much to celebrate with the release of Waterbeds in Trinidad! While much of the material here comes from top-rate writers and craftsmen, such tunes as "Darling Be Home Soon," "Snow Queen" (a single), and "Little Road and a Stone to Roll" didn't advance the band's career much. The Association was one band that never quite got the hang of releasing good to great albums instead of a hit single surrounded by mediocrity. From Waterbeds in Trinidad! onward, it proved to be a downhill trend the Association would never recover from. ~ James Chrispell
