The earliest short in the collection is 1937's "Don Donald," the first solo Donald Duck cartoon which also features the first appearance of Donald's female counterpart, Donna, who was later--and better--known as Daisy. The remainder of the cartoons catalogue Donald's career up until 1950, when the Disney studio was turning its concentration away from shorts and towards feature films. Two cartoons in a series where Donald battled Buzz-Buzz the bee are featured: "Inferior Decorator" and the surprisingly cruel "Bee at the Beach." Donald Duck was voiced by the incomparable Clarence Nash, and the rendition of "Old MacDonald" in the short "Old MacDonald Duck" is one the vocal highlights of all of Disney's endeavors. The other Donald cartoons collected here are "Golden Eggs," "Donald's Dog Laundry" with Pluto, "Donald's Vacation," and "Chef Donald."
