Alternative Press (p.176) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he songwriting on WOUNDED is as superb as fans would expect..."
Kerrang (Magazine) (p.47) - "[S]uperb songs crowned with utterly sublime hooks....More highly polished than anything they've put out before."
Bayside (Hardcore): Anthony Raneri, Jack O'Shea (vocals, guitar); Nick Ghanbarian (bass guitar); Chris Guglielmo (drums).
THE WALKING WOUNDED is Bayside's third album, and shows the band maturing toward a tighter, more developed sound. This is not to say the emo-punk-pop vibe of yore has been discarded; rather, it 's been refined, making the songwriting and musicianship stronger and more assured.
The lead-off title track, for instance, tears ahead with a ferocious riff that gives way to Anthony Ranieri's understated melody lines in the verse before building into a hook-heavy chorus. "Duality," another highlight, mixes nimble punk-pop brightness with the band's more familiar emo qualities. One of Bayside's strongest efforts, THE WALKING WOUNDED shows this alternative quartet rising through the emo ranks.
