Highlights of the compilation include Roger Miller's breezy smash hit "King of the Road," Johnny Cash and June Carter's folk-tinged duet "If I Was a Carpenter," and Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson's outlaw anthem "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys." Not only is CLASSIC COUNTRY a fine Grammy document--it also serves as a solid introduction to the genre.
