Since the movie is a romance aimed at twenty and thirty-somethings, the soundtrack is appropriately a collection of pleasant adult contemporary and adult alternative songs. Despite the presence of the Pointer Sisters, the Connells' George Huntely, Belinda Carlisle and the pairing of Shinead O'Connor and Shane McGowan -- whose gnarled, barely comprehensible vocals sound completely out of place amid the smooth textures of the album -- there aren't many distinguished songs on the record.
