To say that "Try This With Your Eyes Closed" is the bands first album is hard,
since this follows in the same footsteps as any other EP would, it features a
bunch of songs that will soon be remastered when the full length album is
released. Most of the songs on this album are seen with the cd "On Frail Wings
of Vanity and Wax", but I find myself blown away by how good of a band Alesana
really is. This first release is simply magnificent, it grabbed my attention
right when Apology opened with the acoustic start and startled me with the
sudden roar of Denniss vocals. The rest of the cd follows very quickly after the
effect left on us by Apology and the term screamo band quickly finds itself
being re-invented. This isnt like any other 5 piece hardcore youve heard before,
the vocals are exciting, the songs are well paced and the music is mayhem, so
why did I enjoy it so much? Alesana goes back to the roots, they dont do
anything to impress us to much because their originality is amazing to listen
to. This is a solid album that all screamo band fans should know by heart.
