TRUSTcompany: Kevin Palmer (vocals, guitar); James Fukai (guitar, background vocals); Walker Warren (bass guitar); Jason Singleton (drums, background vocals).

On 2002's THE LONELY POSITION OF NEUTRAL, TRUST Company delivered a potent combination of super-heavy, down-tuned guitar licks and pop-punk-style soaring vocal harmonies. With TRUE PARALLELS, the Montgomery, Alabama-based group refines its sound, adding tougher, darker elements to the music and an extra dollop of emo-rock angst to the singing. On "The War Is Over," lead vocalist Kevin Palmer's work occasionally recalls the plaintive, high-pitched tone of Jane's Addiction's Perry Farrell. "Crossing the Line" features a grinding, metal bass line and 1980s-style chorused guitar arpeggios reminiscent of Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer," while "Fold" matches speedy stop-start metal riffing with a spacey, Pink Floyd vibe. A worthy sophomore effort, TRUE PARALLELS blends nu-metal with a hint of straight-ahead pop to excellent effect.
