George Strait - Troubadour
Platinum or bust may be the adage that George Strait has based his career on thus far. This thirty-two album, platinum or better artist has been running the gauntlet since his 1981 release “Strait Country”, and he isn’t taking a rest. His latest sound stamp Troubadour, destined to be hit number thirty-three, delivers that sure as the sun will rise comfort we expect from a Strait album.
From “House of Cash”, accompanied by Patty Loveless, to “West Texas Town”, sportin’ some much needed as well as anticipated fiddlin’, this album delivers with a sparkle. “King George” has all the guts and glory that come with creating a hit every time.
At fifty-five this poetic country musician seems to be just getting warmed up, providing Strait fans with a dose of pure country flavor that is matched by few. The western juniors should take a lesson from George; shape up, and fly “Strait”.
Favorite songs – “West Texas Town”, “House of Cash.”
