I became a NC6 fan several years ago when Rhino Records issued the "Colonized!
The Best Of The New Colony Six." Ive known their hits "I Will Always Think
About You" and "Things Id Like To Say" years before Rhino issued the "Colonized"
CD. Although the Rhino compilation is no longer in print, it gave a great
historical perspective of this bands recordings they recorded for Sentar,
Mercury, and Sunlight Records during their time in the spotlight. This
particular CD "Treat Her Groovy" features songs from the bands Mercury Records
catalogue. The songs they were most famous for "Things Id Like To Say" and "I
Will Always Think About You" appear here in their original form. Unfortunately
there are a few tracks that were re-recorded and they include "I Could Never Lie
To You" "I Want You To Know" and "Come And Give Your Love To Me." Perhaps this
is a ploy for this British label to get you to buy their "Sides" CD that was
issued in 2007 which features a few songs from "Treat Her Groovy" and a few
tracks from their Sentar Records catalogue. All in all, a mixed bag.
