"Love Still Remains" was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
Kate Wolf, the singer-songwriter who died of leukemia at age 44 in 1986, after 15 years on the folk music scene, has been described by many musicians as powerfully, if quietly, influential. TREASURES LEFT BEHIND pays tribute to Wolf's enormous musical contribution, with folk and country artists covering some of her best-loved songs. Intimate tunes with simple arrangements like "Here in California," sung by Lucinda Williams, and "Friend of Mine," by Nanci Griffith, best convey Wolf's gentle, understated style. "Tequila and Me," covered by Greg Brown and Ferron, proves that Wolf was capable of a wry sense of humor. TREASURES was produced by Wolf's close friend and collaborator, Nina Gerber, who also plays guitar on most of the songs.
