Tired of selling encyclopedias, Alfredo (Javier Cámera) and his wife Carmen (Candela Peña) agree to make adult videos for secret distribution in Scandinavian countries. They meet with unexpected success--but as Alfredo becomes more and more ambitious, longing for the chance to direct "real" films, his newly minted sex-symbol wife wants only to have a child and settle down. This winning comedy from first-time director Pablo Berger boasts a strong cast and engaging characters, and was a hit on the festival circuit on its release in 2004.
