Getting back to basics after the experimental 2006 release MONDAY MORNING APOCALYPSE, Evergrey rebounds with its most aggressive and dynamic album to date, TORN. And the seventh studio offering from the Swedish progressive metal quintet exhibits considerable musical growth. Produced by front man Tom S. Englund and drummer Jonas Ekdahl, TORN is an exploration of the darker emotions. Tempering the guitar frenzy are sweeping keyboards, Englund's impassioned vocal delivery, jaw-dropping percussion technique, and soulful bass work by new member Jari Kainulainen (Stratovarius). Englund's wife, Carina, also performs heartrending backing vocals on two tracks.
