Title Note

By no means a comprehensive collection of the merengue artist's repertoire, the Jossie Esteban y La Patrulla 15 best-of, Todo Exitos, Vol. 1, issued by Plantano Records, is a set of 12 of his songs, though none of them are among his most famous ("El Tiguer¢n," "El Moreno," "Noche de Copas"). Still, there are some ("Otra Vez Bebiendo," "Me Quiene Chavar," "A la Mujer del Vecino, Se la Estan...") that have previously been -- and will continue to be -- compiled, and even if the tracks aren't the best-known ones, they're still fun, enjoyable merengue pieces that are great to dance to, or just enjoy while thinking about a night out in the Dominican Republic. ~ Marisa Brown
