Title Note

On their sophomore release, TIRED OF HANGING AROUND, the Zutons build admirably on the quirky, groovy 1960s rock revivalism they mined on their debut. While still rooted in the sounds of the Kinks and the Animals, the Zutons expand their palette on TIRED, dabbling in R&B, psychedelic ballads, and dreamy folk. More importantly, the writing is kicked up a notch in ambition and scope so the album brims with complex, durable melodies and unique song structures. Fine saxophone work is another of the band's winning qualities, and there is plenty of it here, giving a classically stylish edge to the second outing from this up-and-coming Liverpool quintet.
